Simpson got his first drum kit when he was 2 at Xmas, annoying his parents and sister who was born 2 months previously. He’d have to wait 16 years to get his first proper kit – but he’s more than made up for it since then.

When he was 4/5 years old his dad would have Deep Purple or Genesis blaring through the speakers; Simpson would steal his slippers and hit cushions to drum along!

It wasn’t until he started high school that he took it seriously, being completely self-taught and starting up bands with mates.

An all round musician, Simpson also plays guitar, bass and piano as well as euphonium in St. David’s Brass Band, of which he has been a member since 1998

"Great Success !"

Filling in at the last minute for 2 gigs in 2008, Simpson displayed a fantastic ability to learn tracks quickly. Fitting seamlessly into the line-up he has brought a level of technical expertise and reliability that were sorely missing up until that point.

Always on hand to cheers up a rehearsal room with an impression or six, Simpson has been a very welcome addition to Bad Name. He has also quickly establishing himself as one of the top 5 pool players in the band.
