Saturday 18th September
Fundraiser, Grantown on Spey
The band will be playing a fund-raiser for the Highland League team Strathspey Thistle. This will be as an act of reparation following the head-to-head results with the mighty can-cans in 2010... Ha! :P The gig will be on the 18th - which, incidentally, was where Strathspey finished in the league this year. Come on guys! you can do better this year!
A return to Orkney and a superb club with a superb sound system- We'll be breaking out some surprise tracks for this gig so come along if you like your classic Jovi and be ready to party like we know you can!
A return to this fantastic venue- last time was great, with a stage invasion of dancers and everything! Let's make this one just as good - and as always, kind people of Wick, please be accepting of the refugees from Thurso who make it across for the evening - behind their reserved and glazed exterior beats a heart that enjoys the rock as much as anyone. Please adopt one for the night. ;)
Bad Name will be providing the entertainment for the Perth 800 Race Day on the 21st of August at Perth Racecourse for an expected 5500 guests. This will be an opportunity to enjoy a fantastic day of racing and rock. Don't miss your chance to catch a full Bad Name gig on an outdoor stage with an accompanying big screen AV show from our uber-talented digital artist. Book your tickets here or call Perth Racecourse on 01738 551597.
Almost a year after we were stranded in Orkney we are coming back up to make good our gig at the Waterfront, Wick on September the 5th - should be a fantastic night – and we will rock twice as hard to make up for us not making it in 2008.
29th & 30th August
Meltdown Festival , Blyth
Another outdoors gig and this popular festival in Blyth- a weekend even with camping at the site, Bad Name have been asked to headline the Sunday night (30th) although the exact line up and times are subject to confirmation. Stay tuned for updates... you'll hear it here first... actually you won't- it'll be on our bebo and myspace before I get my lazy ass around to updating it here... but you know, them's the breaks. Our Myspace is here and the bebo is here .
Saturday 1st August
Fundraiser, Grantown on Spey
A chance to catch the band at an outdoor gig, raising funds for the entry of Strathspey Thistle into the Highland League. Expect an energetic set- and our keys player acting like Damien Thorn in a church. More details to follow as we get them.
Friday 31st July
The Mosset Tavern, Forres
Looking forward to playing the mighty Mosset in Forres- much like the Can-cans, we plan to turn up, make a lot of noise for a couple of hours and then hit the bar (Come back Charlie Brown!).
Come along for a night of classic rawk! Oh, and if anyone can tell our keyboarder where he can get hold of a mechanics top to wear for the Strathspey Thistle gig the band are playing the next day that would be appreciated! ;)
Saturday 27th June
No.1 Bar , Dundee
Ok Guys / Guyettes- As part of the music festival taking place in Dundee we will be playing a set at the new No.1 bar between 2-4. Come along and have your faces rocked.
Saturday 23rd May 2009
Saturday 16th May 2009
A trip over the border to a fantastic looking rock venue. Their website looks a lot of fun - how many venues have a section of pics of their regulars dedicated to gratuitous down the top 'art'?
We'll be there- maybe even see if we can find a '12' setting on the amps.
Apologies to the many people who have mailed us regarding the Classic Grand gig - This was being organised through the management of the Guns ‘n’ Roses tribute band ‘Lose Your Illusion’ with whom we were due to play some Scottish dates. Regrettably, ‘Lose Your Illusion’ have had to pull out of these dates and were unable to contact us in time to give us the option of keeping the gig going ourselves.
We are currently in touch with the management of the venue and hope to be able to announce a rescheduled date here in the coming weeks.
Friday 3rd April 2009

We're goin' ballistic Mav, go get him!, ah yes, a nightmare of a Friday night as the rest of the band will have several hours of Top Gun quotes to contend with solely due to a tenuous link with the venue name. Really looking forward to playing Maverick's after a booking mishap last year; we will make sure that we make it up to everyone who mailed disappointed that the November gig had to be rescheduled.
This will be a biggie- and the closest out Forresian keys player has got to a home gig yet! So bring all your friends along for a night of quality rawk!
Very sad to say that despite a large crowd coming to see us at this venue the gig has been put on hold due to some changes in booking staff for the venue. There is some talk of this been rescheduled for early next year, along with another Inverness gig at another popular music venue- So hopefully we'll get to meet all you mad lot that were so kind in your messages, and trying to find us an alternative gig location at short notice - we will make it up to you by pulling out all the stops when we do come up.
On date 2 of our tour we will be playing at The Waterfront in Wick! Really looking forward to this one; we will be sure to get the place rocking. C’mon get yourselves out and we will cheer you up after the Deveronvale match earlier in the day.
Oh and as a special request, if you could cease hostilities for the evening and relax the border controls we might even tempt through a few waifs and strays from Thurso ;)

Well, how's this for exciting, Bad Name's first gig off the mainland, and at a stunning looking venue with a 20KW sound system... someone is going to get hurt... my money is on Gav. We just can't wait to play Orkney's premier nightspot and have the pleasure of gigging not only in such a beautiful part of the country, but one so famous for it's musical roots as well... so blasting out 80s Americana at around the threshold of pain should insult no-one, surely!
If you are a Bon Jovi fan in Orkney then do come along and we'll do our very to do justice to a live jovi gig!
If you aren't a Bon Jovi fan and live in Orkney, come along anyway and throw light, non-breakable objects / house pets at our guitarist whilst making desparaging remarks about his, quite frankly, pornographic trousers.
A visit to the premier live music spot in Dumfries for Bad Name- from what we've heard and seen of the venue it looks a quality gig with a quality in house sound system and massssiiveee stage. Expect running... lots and lots of running- and if there isn't, Gav and Ross will refund a proportinal amount of your ticket money from their own pockets*
*this proportion will be a) laughable and b) may be be presented as an equivalent value of bog roll at the band member's discretion.
Playing the Ex-Servicemen's club in Peebles. A good stage/ lighting and dancefloor should make for a top night! If you live in the area then get yourselves down there.
Support from 8.30pm
A return out west for a second gig at Rockers- can't tell you how much we enjoyed the first one! a great venue with a superb sound system. On the bill with Wishaw covers band Crossfire.
The “homecoming” gig for the boys, returning to the venue we opened last year. On the bill with excellent local rockers “The Zhen” and another, as yet unconfirmed, support.
Not such good news- The gig has been cancelled due to renovations at the venue, which is a shame as we put a lot of prep time into this one. Watch this space though as we will be resetting a date with the management in July.

Well, thank you to the Livingston crowd who were right up there with the Pleasance in terms of dancing about and interaction! You wild, crazy fools!
Never before has an invasion of ladies onto the stage managed to halt the Master of Bass mid “In These Arms” – but there were just too many delectable beauties to keep in check- a quick recovery and sly fumble later had the gig back on-track without even the hint of a dropped beat.
Other highlights at the unique venue included Ross slow-dancing with an inebriated young, misguided local lass who stole his hat at the end of the evening, and a proposition to Gav that has already entered the annals of history under the “Most disturbing quotes section”:
“I’m old enough to be your mother; now give me your trousers!”

What can we say?! We checked out Rockers a couple of weeks prior to the gig when we went to see the excellent Full Metal Racket and had a top night- However it's only when you get up on stage you realise where all the preparation has gone into the place. The sound system was superb and the sound guy top notch (cheers muchly) - as you can see from the videos we had fun at this gig.
Kicking off with Gav's DVD intro on the big screen we played to a good Glasgow crowd that weren't afraid to get involved and obviously love their rock. Having a look back over the DVD we had recorded on the night we also accidently turned up some bloke lurking near the cam belting out some quite amazing backing vocals- we now have to hunt him down and kill him to make sure he doesn't join another Jovi tribute - Joking aside though, let us know who you are at the next gig, where you live, how often you are out at night alone in poorly lit areas, if you have any severe nut alergies and you could give our backing vocalists a break during "Wanted" if you fancy!
Many thanks to H and co. Looking forward to the return on June 6th already!
Oh and just one more thing, if we could please just assume from now on that there is a general rule that guys stop taking off their clothes and throwing them onstage - and indeed not throwing themselves over crowd barriers and landing on their necks- impressive as it was (The faceplant, not you taking your kit off) neither is healthy - either for your spine or reputation ;) - That is all!
A stint out to the wild west will see Bad Name play Club Bloc on the 11th in what promises to be a good night. What's even better news is that the venue doesn't charge the public for events so a chance to see us for free!! that's better than nothing... ok it's not... and if you don't like Bon Jovi I'd stay at home and watch "How to Look Good Naked" or something- I dunno, are you people ever happy?

Bad name returned to Forfar to take part in night 3 of a 4 night festival, including many top names such as Stiltskin and The Law.
A great night was kicked off by Dundee band SAZ who produced a foot stomping set of their own material which was well received by the crowd. Many thanks to them for the assistance they provided to help our set go ahead – Nice to know there are some good guys left out there!
Next up was local Forfar band Shotgun Libido who impressed with their energetic goth influenced rock, although nearly instigated a tense stand-off when their singer, challenged by an equally obscene pair of trousers, decided to confront our own PVC clad keys player mid-song. Tsk-tsk this sort of thing doesn’t happen in the Capital ;)
Bad Name then took to the stage to hammer through a set of classics which where belted back at us by a loud (maybe half pished?) crowd. Highlights of the set were “Bad Medicine”, which seemed to have the four walls shaking, and a finale consisting of "Faith" and "Prayer" which had the band wishing that they could play The Plough every night thanks to the tremendous reaction and participation of the crowd.
A great evening all in all which had one crowd member saying "I really don’t like Bon Jovi but I F***ing enjoyed that"- and that’s more than good enough for us!

A return to the venue we opened!
Bad Name will be playing their next Edinburgh date at the mighty Ark on Waterloo Place on the 3rd of November. If you missed us last time- then get your ass down there- if you were there last time… thanks very much… get your ass down there again.
We’ll be trying out a few set list additions from New Jersey and These Days as well so make sure you are there to catch that!!
The night will be a double header with the sensational Apocalypse Jones who are taking some time out of recording new material to make a much anticipated return to the stage! A mix of classic & contemporary rock covers and fantastic original tracks, they are a band not to be missed.
Could any loony bastards that were thinking of running around and taking their clothes off again kindly stay at home this time- unless you are female... and fit... that is all.

Despite many protestations from geriatrics in pork-pie hats, Bad-Name made sure that the inaugural night of live music at the new Ark music venue was one of good old fashioned rock… Not that it looked like it was going to happen when we arrived… the venue still quite unfinished. Thankfully though, the techs and bar staff worked really hard to avert an opening night disaster and ensure that the show went on. A lot of work had been put in on the stage by the resident sound engineer Ralph, who was the busiest person in the room, running back and forwards all night to ensure a good mix – many thanks!!
KA-TET kicked of the evening with a selection of originals and covers, followed by some inspired solo guitar work from Phil- Thank you very much guys, was great to catch up with you again.
The “We’re not fae f*&£ing Cornwall” Infidel took to the stage amidst a hail of pasties and clotted cream and played a substantial set of indie rock numbers all well received amongst a loyal travelling support they brought with them – cheers to you all guys.
Due to the delays we finally took to the stage at about 10.45 –apologies to many of our guests who turned up on the night expecting us on sooner. Actually having a decent stage set up and sound engineer made all the difference and we duly “set aboot” the track listings in a style John Smeaton would have approved of.
One of the major highlights on the night included a first from any Jovi tribute band in the playing of the Live from the o2 version of “Any Other Day” – which we were quite proud of considering we only saw the storming performance of it at the gig in London two and a half weeks ago.
Audio tracks from the gig will be going up and videos will also follow shortly of I believe, Bad Medicine and Dry County. Also, we might have to introduce a new video section of the stranger gig moments… which this time involved a ridiculously camp strip from a member of the audience and someone waving their shoe?!? at us in lieu of a lighter.
